As we celebrate Ms. Kellan as she prepares to head off to medical school this fall—she will be missed dearly—we are also excited to welcome our new health room specialist, Ms. Shelly Jarvis!
Ms. Jarvis is a Prince of Peace parishioner, as well as a loving mother and grandmother. She brings with her a wealth of experience in both the healthcare field and in living out her faith. She is a graduate of North Central Kansas Technical College in Concordia, KS, and is a licensed practical nurse with multi-state licensure. She is also IV- and CPR-certified.
From Ms. Jarvis:
"I've been blessed with a variety of nursing experiences over the years, including long-term care, home health, and hospice. For the past two years, I've been serving children with disabilities and their families in a home setting. It's exciting to begin this new adventure at Sacred Heart School! I look forward to getting acquainted with everyone and serving our community. My hope and prayer is that I serve well each day, bringing the light and love of Christ to all He places on my path. I can't promise perfection, but I do promise to put my Catholic faith and my heart into my work and to always do my best."
Please join us in giving Ms. Jarvis a warm welcome! And be sure to thank Ms. Kellan for all she has done this past year, and wish her every success as she begins medical school this fall!

This quote perfectly explains the smile on this teacher's face. Mrs. Jones (pictured here with a GINORMOUS smile) loves her students with her whole being. As gentle as her heart is, she is equally super competitive.
During March Madness, Sacred Heart was also in the middle of state testing. Mrs. Jones created the first annual March Madness of Random Things. Every student filled out a bracket to predict what middle schoolers would choose as the best "thing."
Taylor Swift vs. Hoodie Sweatshirts
Chicken Nuggets vs. Xbox
So, what won the BIG DANCE of random things? Christmas! 🎄🎄🎄 Sixth graders Will and Sofie took home the grand prize for having the best brackets in middle school.
We can't wait for next year's tournament!

With over 100 years of experience at Sacred Heart (really??)—and 128 years in education—they are the backbone of our school. Their impact goes far beyond the classroom, supporting both students and teachers with a passion for service and a deep desire to see all students reach their potential. It is a beautiful and holy call that God has placed on their hearts.
Preparing minds for the future and souls for eternity means meeting students where they are—and this team does just that. They move seamlessly across grade levels, stepping in where needed to ensure every student gets what they need to succeed.

They are innovators and difference makers. We are so blessed.

Now in their fourth year teaching together, this team has built a strong culture of collaboration, meaningful relationships, and a shared commitment to our Catholic faith.
With 54 of those years spent at Sacred Heart, we are incredibly grateful for the lasting impact they’ve had—shaping minds for the future and souls for eternity.

Mr. Herzet and Mrs. Rockers attended the National Catholic Educators Association (NCEA) Annual Conference this week, learning alongside Catholic educators from across the country.
One resounding theme: the importance of connecting our Catholic faith and the teachings of the Church to the ongoing growth of our students. Their health of mind, body, and spirit must be integrated at every moment.
Grateful for this time to reflect, learn and plan for the future of Sacred Heart School.
